Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program - MBSR
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program was developed at the Stress Reduction Clinic at UMass Medical Center by Jon Kabat-Zinn.
Since 1979 more than 25,000 people have completed this evidence-based training.
The program helps you:
Approach your life with more composure, energy, understanding and enthusiasm
Develop the ability to cope more effectively with both short-term and long-term stressful situations, gaining insight into response rather than reaction
Enhance your ability to manage and reduce pain levels
Improve your focus, resilience, and capacity to recover more quickly from challenging events
Learn how to access and cultivate a natural capacity to actively engage in caring for yourself and find greater balance, ease, and peace of mind
This program integrates a dedicated somatic component into the traditional Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) framework, offering a more comprehensive approach to stress and anxiety management. While standard MBSR cultivates awareness through meditation and attention training, this course extends that work into the body—where stress is often first experienced and stored.
Drawing on principles from somatic psychology and nervous system regulation, participants learn to recognize physiological cues, discharge accumulated tension, and build resilience through embodied practices. This bottom-up approach complements mindfulness by directly engaging the autonomic nervous system, helping to shift patterns of reactivity into states of greater ease and regulation.
The result is not just improved awareness of stress, but an increased capacity to respond to it with flexibility and stability—making the benefits of mindfulness more accessible, sustainable, and deeply integrated into daily life.
